All of us in the flooring business have always known that laminates are are much more scratch resistant than vinyls, they have a look that vinyl cannot match, and they sound better also. The main drawback was that laminates could not get wet. Will all of that changed to the point that a piece of laminate went through the entire snow melt in the back of my truck and when we took it out and shook it off we laughed that we could actually fix a customer’s floor with a piece of laminate that went through the entire snow melt!!! I have also found that the contractors are the last ones to embrace the new laminates because they got burnt with the old laminates that couldn’t get wet. I have to tell them that I was also a contractor and I also got burnt by the old laminates but I’m sold on the new ones!!
